Democracy is your gift to your children. This is my gift to you.

I was 4 years old when you were seated as the Philippines' and Asia's first female president. I knew nothing about politics then. But this I know: If it weren't for you, we'd probably be another North Korea, not having freedom to do the things we love and enjoy. You brought democracy back to the Philippines.

You weren't just our president, you were the country's mother.

I will forever thank you for this freedom that we are all enjoying now.

Thank you, Tita Cory. Isa kang bayani.

Thanks for posting this. She was everyone's mother, with more strength, more decency, than any failed actor could ever bring. Long may she be remembered.
